Orion Pictures has released the “Kaslan Corporation Special Announcement” teaser for its upcoming Child’s Play reboot. The nearly minute-long trailer features the Kaslan Corporation’s founder “Henry Kaslan”, played by actor Tim Matheson, making a pitch for the company’s new artificial intelligence-equipped “Buddi” doll:
This isn’t the first promo that Orion has released featuring the Kaslan Corporation – as we reported back in November, the company released a fake product website for the doll showcasing all of its advanced technological features. The continued focus on Kaslan and the Buddi doll makes us even more certain that we’re dealing with a technological terror in this reboot rather than a Voodoo-conjured Chucky.
Child’s Play (2019) is directed by Lars Klevberg, written by Tyler Burton Smith, and stars Aubrey Plaza as “Karen”, Brian Tyree Henry as “Mike”, and Gabriel Bateman as “Andy”. The film is already shooting on location in Vancouver, Canada.
The film will be released to theaters nationwide on June 21st.
