April 20th (AKA 420) has become an informal, albiet popular, worldwide holiday celebrating the consumption of marijuana. To join in the festivities, we’ve created a list of all the stoner horror movies we could find. Now, we only include films that are overtly about pot – if we included every horror movie where characters “spark up”, we’d have to list basically every slasher movie in existence. So far, our list holds a BAKEr’s dozen individual movies and one franchise:
4/20 Massacre
Made in 2018, 4/20 Massacre is on this list because it’s set over 4/20 weekend. The slasher movie was written & directed by Dylan Reynolds, and stars Jamie Bernadette, Vanessa Rose Parker, and Stacey Danger.
Blood Freak
Made in 1972, Blood Freak features a marijuana addict given experimental pot. The mad scientist/mutant movie was written & directed by Brad F. Grinter & Steve Hawkes, and stars Hawkes, Dana Cullivan, and Randy Grinter.
Bong of the Dead
2011’s Bong of the Dead features pot made from zombie juice (otherwise known as “Z-Weed” to fans of SyFy’s Z-Nation). The zombie stoner movie was written & directed by Thomas Newman, and stars Simone Bailly, Mark Sweatman, and Jy Harris.
Bong of the Living Dead
2017’s Bong of the Living Dead is a film about stoners in the zombie apocalypse. The movie was written & directed by Max Groah, and stars Tiffany Arnold, Eric Boso, and Daniel Alan Kiely.
Class of Nuke ‘Em High
Made in 1986, Class of Nuke ‘Em High features radioactive marijuana that turns the student body into psychos. The psycho-teen movie was written & directed by Richard W. Haines and Lloyd Kaufman, and stars Janelle Brady, Gil Brenton, and Robert Prichard.
The Coed And The Zombie Stoner
Made in 2014, The Coed And The Zombie Stoner features pot as the cure to zombism. The zombie movie was written & directed by Glenn Miller, and stars Catherine Annette, Grant O’Connell, and Jamie Noel.
The Evil Bong Franchise
Made in 2006, Evil Bong introduces the killer bong named “Eebee”. The stoner horror movie was written & directed by Charles Band, and stars David Weidoff, John Patrick Jordan, Mitch Eakins, and Tommy Chong. Pot Zombies

2015’s Star Leaf features alien pot. The sci-fi/horror movie was directed by Richard Cranor, written by Cranor & Hugh Beryy, and stars Cranor, Julian Gavilanes, and Russell Hodgkinson.
Toxic Zombies
1980’s Toxic Zombies features chemical-tainted pot that turns smokers into zombies. The zombie movie was written & directed by Charles McCrann, and stars McCrann, Beverly Shapiro, and Dennis Helfend.
The Tripper
Made in 2006, The Tripper takes place at a hippie festival. The slasher movie was written & directed by David Arquette, and stars Jaime King, Thomas Jane, and Lukas Haas.
